Kids are a blast!

So, I'm in my third trimester now. We went for an ultrasound last night, and it went wonderful! It was super clear and this baby has a lot of the same facial features Shelby has. I guess both of my children are gonna look like their daddy! I told Guy that if this baby is male, it's gonna be a pretty boy. :) Shelby went with us, and I think she enjoyed getting to see the baby. She looked at me and said "Mommy, I'm ready to get the baby off the TV." It's so cute how children think! The closer we get to having the baby, the more I'm thinking Shelby is going to do wonderful sharing her parents with her new sibling. She'll be an awesome big sis.

Shelby is now solely sleeping in her BIG GIRL bed, has been for about a month now. YIPPEE!! We've developed a routine, and I think that helped. Every night we bathe, then brush our teeth, then straighten up our room then Guy and I lay her down in her bed. We say our prayers and then sing her her special song. Kisses night night, then she's out. Since we have gotten into a night time routine, she has done so well with it, and I think I had more anxiety from her moving out of our bed than she did!! Now that I'm used to it though, Guy and I have really enjoyed having our room back. She still comes and gets in bed with us sometimes during the middle of the night, but not too often, and I must say I enjoy having her sleeping next to me on the nights that she does.

We also started trying to potty train Shelby last week, and by about Thursday I had about given up! Then Monday morning we tried again, and she is doing AWESOME! I'm super proud of her, and she's loving being a BIG GIRL now. She's learning so much so fast! She's known how to count to 10 for a good while, way before she turned 2, and we've been working on counting to 20. She's doing pretty good at it, but right now she is more interested in the Alphabet I think. She's smart, especially for a 2 year old!

We're doing the nursery after the baby's born, since we aren't going to find out the gender. I've started nesting, and not being able to get things ready is driving me crazy. However, as a result, my house is staying spotless and I've been cooking and freezing alot for after the baby's born. It helped that we picked out nursery stuff for a boy and a girl. If it's a boy, we're gonna do John Deere and if it's a girl we're going with lady bugs. Getting the nursery done AFTER the baby's born is going to be kind of stressful, but we really do not want to go neutral. We've also decided to temporarily turn the dining room into a baby nook, since it's right by our bedroom. For the first few months, anyways.

Guy and I just had our four year "dating" anniversary on Apr. 25th. I guess that means we've been married for about a year and 8 months. To celebrate, we took Shelby to the Fort Worth zoo. Cheyenne and Kenny went with us. Shelby really enjoyed it, and we enjoyed watching how excited she got.

I guess we're fixing to get new rocking recliners to go in our living room. The one's we've picked out are pretty big, so we will be able to rock both babies at the same time, which was what I was hoping for. The one we have hurts my neck, and I'll be spending alot of time rocking once the baby gets here, so we had to get something! All of our furniture has been handed down to us from family (which we were and still are VERY thankful for), but we're excited to be buying some new furniture.

Anyway, that is what's going on with our lives at the moment. The next few months are going to fly by, and we just can't wait. We're looking so forward to meeting the new addition to our family and are just thanking God everyday for all He has blessed us with.

The past couple of years...

Alot has happened in our lives the past few years. Here's a little update on us and what's gone on in our lives!:) I wrote this on a different blog site, and just copied and pasted it so it may be a little outdated, but gives you a little update on us anyway for those of you we haven't kept in touch with!

We have a gorgeous 2 year old little girl named Shelby Ashelyn. She's our world! At the beginning of November, we found out we're going to have another little one due to be here July 11th. Can't wait!

In case you didn't know, Guy and I both graduated from Panther Creek a year early, and were married in August of 2007. Then we moved to Sweetwater and both started school full time. We went to school for a year, and this past August, we both graduated from TSTC together. Guy is a diesel mechanic and I am now an LVN. It was one crazy year, us both going to school full time and raising a baby, but it was a year we wouldn't trade for the world. Now that it's over, we're so glad we stuck with it! After we graduated, we moved back to Coleman and finally found a house in September. Seemed like it took forever! Needless to say, life's alot less stressful now that we're not both full time students! I get to be a stay at home mom, and I'm love loving it, as is Shelby! And Guy loves his job. All day long while Guy's at work I'm convinced Shelby's a momma's girl, until Guy walks through the door. She adores her daddy. The Lord has blessed us so many ways, and we thank Him every day for all that he has given us.
